Release Notes:
Omnispawn was born in the dark autumn mist of 2005
by two At the Gates-fans named Rickard and Markus,
at that time as a guitar-duo called Darkest Days.
Darkest Days remained until winter, 2006, when
local drummer Daniel joined them and the trio
decided to change name to Flatline.
After settling into a rehearsal room in Ronneby,
and with a newly found ability to create music at
a higher level, Flatline simply started working on
some new material together.
Despite the lack of a bassplayer and a vocalist,
the flame kept on burning and the trio was
perfectly happy with playing the songs over and
over and over on a weekly basis. It later came to
their attention that the name Flatline was in use
by a large number of other bands worldwide, so
after some hard thinking and research, Flatline
transformed into Omnispawn. With a fully developed
"personal sound", Omnispawn was ready to add more
members to the line-up, in order to take the music
to even higher levels.
In June of 2007, a number of bassplayers tried out
for Omnispawn, and the most competent was Charlie,
an old friend to Markus. Basstracks was written
into the songs and made a huge difference in many
parts of the Omnispawn sound. 80% of the band was
now complete and the appetite for a vocal
shredding monster grew into almost enormous
proportions.
At the end of 2007 and forward, a variety of
vocalists tried out for Omnispawn, until the
beginning of 2008, when a vocalist named John
e-mailed a sample of his insanly brutal voice.
With a lot of anger towards almost everything,
Omnispawn focused on writing lyrics for the songs,
and suddenly, a real band had emerged from what
once was a silhouette consisting of drum machines
and mistuned guitars.
With a message that the world simply isn't the
green meadows and the flowers that people would
like to think, the band stands ready to downgrade
this "truth version 1.2" with the aggressive but
melodic tunes that is Omnispawn. To be continued...
