Right, I reckon these guys just have us all duped. They've probably
just got one massive archive in a lockup in Salford that they all dip
into before saying they've just spent 10 years hunting these
nuggets down.
Then again that's probably just bollocks and i'm just jealous that
these records are so damn good. The latest in the Weekend
Breaks series is picked by core crew members Dom Thomas and
Chris Geddes, unearthing two spankingly heavy drum workouts for
your floor. Dom Thomas picks out Siegried Fink's 'Beat The Beat',
a stone cold killer drum track with subtle reverb applications and a
no-nonsense tool vibe that's mighty useful for all the hiphop psyche
heads.
On the flip Chris Geddes upturns Jean Kassapian's 'The Snake' a
slinky cut with arabesque melodies weaved into a loud and heavy
break that collectors and belly dancers would kill for equally (that
would be an interesting scrap, wouldn't it?).
Limited copies - Highly Recommended!
